And don't use sequential or majestic. I need a word that sums up the survival of the fittest motif but without being too vague.

Duh! That's the word I would pick, the fastest outrun the slowest and don't get eaten. A slightly more helpful answer would be...um...I don't know, obvious, logical, I really think that the two words natural selection are the most descriptive and sums it up better than any other. Survival of the fittest isn't vague. I wish I could help you, I've been thinking so long that my meatloaf is done. Good luck.
