Ok, if you are so shy that you can't interact with other people that isn't good...but being shy isn't a truly bad thing. I think that if you asked this question, you may feel like your shyness interferes with your life and that's hard.
I think that you need to just stand back, look at yourself and the situation/people that you are shy of and assess the problem with honesty.
I have always been pretty shy... you know, afraid to talk, stammering, huge anxiety attacks...I always break out in hives when in a social situation (which is cool in the winter with turtlenecks...but man I hate summer). But I know that it comes from a sense of low self-esteem. Truly, you just have to have more faith in yourself. I know that sounds pretty hard to swallow, but why else would you be afraid of others? If you truly liked your self, why would you have any anxiety over talking to other people.
My advice... start liking the little things about yourself that are cool and the rest will happen... you know, every one else is not always right and I'll bet you'll find that out by reading some of the ridiculous answers you get. You really are unique and important.
It is my sincer wish you find that out, and just become you!
