If you are just starting your periods you may be irregular too, you may not have normalcy in your periods for a year or two but DO NOT think that you cannot get pregnant at a young age, you can. I don't know how old you are but talk to your mom or your doc if you are sexually active. Protect yourself against pregnancy with contraceptives and against STD's - with condoms, ALWAYS

Your friend's period was like that because when you first start, they are not doing it in the pattern they need to, you would probably miss one in January and then you will get a heavy one in March so it goes in a different pattern.

do you mean your first period ever? no one can tell what will happen though they usually get i little heavier each time until you get into a set cycle. you'll have to wait and see. that may be what happened to her but it doesn't mean everyone is the same.
