This is very difficult. I recently had to deal with this issue. I thought that confronting the person would be the best idea. I soon learned it was not. You are throwing caution to the wind when you confront one. After I confronted this guy, he went ballistic. He even threatened to kill me. When a member of management confronted this guy, right there he told him the same thing. A few guys got him calmed down. Now the matter is under investigation. I was told to stay clear of him for the next few weeks(hard when you work in the same place) while they conduct an investigation. Needless to say, if the guy is let go
I'm not sure if he will seek retribution and what kind that will be. Now I will be looking over my shoulder at all times. The biggest mistake I made was not calling the police. Even though you are at work you should call them if someone physically threatens you.
This way there is a record and if the person has done it before somewhere else, it's a lot easier to deal with. Best of luck to you and be careful.

I do know it depends somewhat where you work, but more than anything what helps considerably is don't be afraid, because most bullies are all show.

From my own experience with this, I know that reporting it to the boss can be an iffy proposition. Of course that's the recommended course of action, but what comes of it is yet another story. If the boss likes you and doesn't like them, it might be the easy way out, but there's no way to tell for sure, and I think this course of action is likely best if the bullies are doing it to more than just you, as you may be able to talk to your co-workers about it beforehand, see what they want to do.

Some places the only thing that works is grab the punk by the throat and get ready to let off some steam, but most places that will get you fired.

If per chance your boss sides with them or worse is also one of the bullies, I might suggest start seeking alternate employment.

But it does boil down to the only way I know that works is to stand up to them and let them know that unless they have something personal going on with you, that you would prefer if from here on out the relationship towards you be kept on a professional level.

YES, I am going through it right now!!! Currently, I am known as the office Biiiaatch, because I am fed up with everyone treating me like they do, so now, I just say, "F-OFF" . . . because, well, honestly, I don't care about a single one of them or the place I work . . . I should probably just quit, but then that'd be too easy.

First of all, notify your superior. If that doesn't work, mobilize your co-workers to fight against the bully. If that doesn't work, sue him (but make sure to have the proof of bullying before suing).

I did have it put into my lap one day, but I was fired. I had put a two week notice in, and one of the managers asked me to do something, i went to do it, the person in charge of that station told me she didn't need any help, so I went back to work on my station, the manager said, I told you to.... I told him I went to help her she told me no, and he said I didn't see you, I told him to ask her, and he said no. Then he said that I needed to go home, for what, he said I was being insubordinate. Which I wasn't. He then fired me. For no reason. I believe that they just didn't want to work me for my two weeks that I put in.
