I am wanting to insulate my home and the inspector said that foam would be the best and I am not sure if i could do it or even how much it would cost.

This is not generally a job for an amatuer. The contractors use a fairly specialized piece of equipment, and have experience with how much foam to inject into the wall cavity, (between each stud), so that it doesn't blow the walls out, on either side, when it expands. It can exert quite a lot of force, if it's trapped with nowhere to go. Best to call an insulation company and get them to come make an inspection and give you a quote. Then you'll know for sure.

Foam is great, but is your home already built? If it's new construction, it's not hard at all, but it's expensive.

If you are already in the home, and it's foam, then it is a major headache, as you'll have to basically remove the sheetrock on the walls and redo it.

If you're talking about blown in insulation, you can cut holes Ithe size of the insulation blower nozzle) in the sheetrock and blow in the insulation, then repair the holes. Blowing the insulation in the attic is much easier, and is very effective.

I'm not a professional in regards to insulation. This just comes from my own experience in various houses.

Good Luck!
