Should America send in a few nuclear powered aircraft carriers to the coast of the United kingdom and make Britain give Scotland its rightfully deserved independence from imperialist Britain.

Would the Scotish like America to force britain to relinquish its death grip on Scotland. I for one think - with American firepower - Scotland would be liberated in a matter of hours. Britain would fall quickly and Scotland would be free!

What say you?

Why not you always shove yourselves in uninvited, and do as you like, nuke every one you don't like or agree with it's the amrican way, and of course you have god on your side. ( or so you all keep telling us)
Scotland has its own Parliament, different laws and policies it is pretty much separate anyway. Scots don't need help from any one, Scotland will decide on its own

It would seem it is only the Scots that make a issue of Independence. The rest of Britain doesn't really care, just like for Northern Ireland. Are we really bothered whether they stay with Britain as one united island? Give them a vote, if they wanna leave, then go.

But of course if Scotland left Britain to be on its own, forget any handouts and any money apart from what it can collect from its on resources, which isn't a great amount is it? Protection from the navy, army, air force etc? Why should the rest of the U.K help them out if they need it if they left?
Scotland needs the rest of the U.K, (and all the money they get)not vice versa.
Gone are the days of William Wallace and all that stuff, that is all history. Bad things happened on both sides of the fence. Forget about it as we have done for centuries, and just get along together, as one United Kingdom.

As for America helping out Scotland be 'liberated', I don't think so. Many Americans have probably never heard of Scotland, or at least just recognise it as a county/state in England or something. I say it will never, ever ever happen...

I think that there is as many Scots living in England as there is living in Scotland. I heard that there is about 5 million in Scotland and again another 5 million Scots living in England. Is Gordan Brown not got Scottish in him? and what about Blair and the northern Ireland connection, everyone is such a mixed bunch here we can hardly hate each other because if we do we find out later that we have what ever nationality we hate in us. I heard that one in ten people in the UK is Irish or part Irish and if you want Irish decent well that could be most people considering how many children the Irish have.
The Americans would not support such a thing in any case because there are more English Americans than Scottish Americans, even though the Scottish American like the Irish Americans are into their past more. Also America's greatest allies are the British, why can't we just live together without these stupid games. If Scotland wants to be independent then let it be, but why are there so many Scottish people in England?

Thankyou for your help but I think us Scots can handle it on our own. You won't need to give us your nuclear weapons considering most of Britains nuclear bombs are kept in Scotland along with the Trident submarines. If we did want to nuke the rest of the UK we are perfectly capable of doing it on our own. As for independence - I personally welcome the idea as it will really change the country I live in remarkably quickly and maybe bring much more to the country. We have enough income. This interim Scotland brought £125 million to the UK treasury from oil alone. Upon independence it would make money on water it provides to England every year. It could also provide energy to neighbouring nations since currently its green energy production provides energy for approx. half of the homes in Scotland. There are only 5 million people living here so the remaining energy counld be used for other income. Scotland is a very different nation from what it was 300 years ago when it started the union. Population hasn't increased as much as it has in other countries but it has many people from around the world emigrating here for money jobs and a better way of life. So if it did become independent it could be a new nation with many cultures and a great history of politics to learn from. The other nations in the UK could have similar benefits. So thanks for the offer from America but we have waht we need here to bring it upon ourselves if we want it.

I say that with all the major problems we have in the world today, it is a foolish thing to go turning rocks over to try to find other burdens for the USA to bear, much less having the audacity to think the USA would even consider intervention into Great Britain's affairs. I have not heard that Scotland is wanting to be independent of Great Britain. You also, are looking at the military situation through rose colored glasses.

Gordon Brown had 10 years as chancellor to end the poverty seize and failed. Scottish potential has been taken over by potential of a Spanish company and publish quotes by potential of as much as 50%. Scottish nurses get 2.5% pay upward thrust. English nurses a million.9% English pupils take out loans - Scottish pupils do not. He mentioned he will pay attention to the folk - he had extra useful start up bloody rattling speedy. possibly he could positioned a question at here - how am i able to win the election? aside from giving all human beings a knighthood and a loose bottle of scotch!

I despair that morons like you live on this planet,if Scotland wants independence from the rest of the UK they can vote democratically for it. Yes they are allowed a vote.Same as any Irishman his allowed a vote in an election,If they wish to leave the UK then it will be a sad parting, but we will wish them well. Its also nice to know you can afford to lose a couple of aircraft carriers, swordfish torpedo's enjoy a good meal.Or will you just sponser, terrorist like the IRA and then get the world invovled, when you get attacked.

Just like the Americans to think that everything can be sorted out by the used of force.
But perhaps someone should tell them what would happen it they use nuclear force against Britain.
Has the use of firepower ever been resolved to their benefit?

They knew about Pearl Harbour before it happened.
They knew about the Twin Towers before it happened.
They should have known what would happen when they went into Vietnam.
They should have known what would happen when they went into Afghanistan.
They should have known what would happen when they went into Iraq
Now they are planning going into Iran.
All under developed countries without the bomb. And you have had your a55 kicked every time.

Don't you people ever learn
Are you doomed to keep on making the same mistakes over and over again

A misinformed people run by a corrupt government with dubious scenarios.

Get your own act together before trying to foist your flawed ideas on the rest of the world.

You are luck to have written this question because if you asked the Americans they probably wouldn't understand you.

In fact learn to spell Scottish.

The UK do not rule you by force.
You have your own parliament and in May you have your elections. All you have to do is vote Scottish nationalist. Most people in England would be behind you.

Have you thought that we might be sick of being ruled by the Scots. The leaders of all three parties are Scots.
So actually you are being ruled by the Scots and what a F@$kup they have made of England.
Please vote for your own country and take our labour leaders with you.

Eh? Britain is the name given to the island that England & Scotland (& Wales) belong to. It is not a political term in the sense you want it to mean. But anyway, to answer your question. I don't want to be with Scotland and they sure as hell don't want to be with me so yes, lets see the breakup of the United Kingdom.
