you need to ice it immediately. put some ice in a bag and wrap a thin towel around it. then apply it to your burn. TRUST ME IF YOU DO NOT ICE IT IMMEDIATELY, your hand will look terrible!!!! my sister didnt ice it (she burned her palm on a stove) and she ended up with what we call "range hands" or "freddy krouger hands". take care of those skin cells. they will burn off if you continue to let the heat circulate in your hands.

Don't put ice,ice can cause the skin to freeze/stick your hand under some cold water and leave it for at least 3 minutes (the longer the better) don't cover it let the air get to it,later you can wrap it if it's causing problems but keep it uncovered at first so nothing irritates it.If it's an open wound then dilute some antisepetic into the water, this'll stop any healing complications.

(I had to do this when I had a hot grill dropped on my hand the burn was right across the back of my hand and it took 3 weeks to heal)

First put ice on it just to lessen the pain then get some aloe vera gel. It smells funny but it works. I work at Starbucks so I get burned with 200 degree coffee and milk all the time. The aloe gel soothes the pain and prevents scarring. Although some of the burns I have gotten while working really hurt, none of them have scarred because we have aloe vera gel in the first aid kit at work. Dont panic...youre going to be fine.

Get a new brain... run cold water on it for at least 3 minutes, because even though the surface is cool, the inside might still be hot.

NO ICE!!!

very cold water for about 5 min.. it will heal, but pretty soon it will start to sting and you may feel the need to keep cold compress on it for a while until pain goes away.
