This drive won't open when I press the button, and I know the "stick a paper clip in there," and it opened, but when I stuck a CD in there, it made no move and completly ignored it. I have tried looking at the software- that's not it, and I've opened it up and re-connected the "plug" and I have restarted it many times- none of it worked. I just got the new Sims 2 expansion pack- Seasons- and I am so disappionted I can't install and play it. Please help! Thanks in advance.

the 1st theory that got here to my ideas upon interpreting this submit grow to be a million. WHY is college training cost is us of a of america ridiculously high priced? WHY do colleges need lots money? a college isn't a organisation like Apple or Microsoft. My sister will graduate from her 4 years of school quickly and the completed coast of training pee paid throughout those 4 years....is OMG too lots. the quantity is in basic terms about as lots because of fact the U.S. national debt. 2. do colleges certainly want quite a few money? 3. us of a of america is at the instant dealing with an financial disaster; it extremely is envisioned to be between the worst ever in U.S. background. So unemployment is a increasing difficulty, the financial gadget is getting spoiled and there are greater harmless voters suffering under the poverty line. and that i'm no longer against the government however the federal government would not look sorting it out nicely. i don't comprehend that lots with reference to the ecnonomy, so I found out from my sister (she's a organisation / economics significant) and that i can tell that the rustic, the financial gadget etc are all dealing with a disaster. Soo....i don't comprehend yet till the government grants to love help the unfavorable pay for faculty or something I strongly propose that schools do no longer develop training expenditures. otherwise...us of a of america will face a good worse academic disaster. Does the stuff I typed make experience? wish it does. And......the solid information is that the high priced training cost paid to a great college grow to be certainly extremely worth it on account that my sister have been given a great pastime 2 weeks till now commencement.

1st I'd goto to the BIOS. while booting up (when you see the big DELL word) press F2 before white bar fills up. Then use arror key go to> Drives > select (highlight) PATA 01> ENTER > Use arrow key to the "ON" selection.> enter > Press Esc.. Key > and the option Save and Exit will appear > OK.
Your Done. This takes like 2 min to do this.

Now if you don't see any green lights come one the CD Drive after that. you don't have power feeding your CD Drive. make sure all connections are connected. AKA try reconnecting. If that still don't work. Call Dell...

Try going into Control Panel, then System, Hardware, & Device Manager. Check to see if there's a yellow triangle/exclamation mark beside the CD drive. If there is, it likely needs drivers to be reinstalled. These can be found on the Internet with some searching. If that's not the problem, the only other advice I can give is to go to a local computer shop & see if they can help.

Dude, you BOUGHT a DELL? LMFAO!! Seriously, though you need to call tech support, but make sure they don't route you to India(you can't understand them and they are of no help). If you ask for someone who speaks English, they will route you to an American support person.
