Do any of you know how to get ready for pressure situations. I need to learn how to train for pressure situations like u know how some people are amazing when theres no pressure in like pickup games and suck but suck in games. I am that kinda person, i think i think too much about it in games and thats y i suck in real games. Do any of you know how to make urself think theres a practice situation when your practicing so when ur actually pressured then its easier.

make the situations mean something

for example if you miss this shot you have to practice the same thing in a similiar setting 500 times or something

being good under pressure is about a will to win and a confidence in your ability to rise to the occasion and be able to accomplish what your team needs

Practice a LOT. Raising your confidence is a first step in performing in pressure situations. If you've got confidence in your ability to deliver on the court, you're not going to overthink it.

Another tie in to that is that when you take that pressure heavy shot, you release it and you gotta say to yourself "that shot IS going in." Whether it does or not, whatever. But when you shoot, you say "count it" in your own head.

Remember too that statistically, you won't make as many miracle shots. I would need to go into old commercials, but there was an old Jordan commercial about how many game winners he had missed. It was a lot more than he made, but who the hell else would you want taking a last minute shot, huh? :)

Set goals, many people don´t do that but try it , it can be really helpful, for example in a game you make 2 points, try to focus on scoring 3 point next game (with pressure), next game try to score 4 points so at the end of the season you have scored 20 or 25 points in a single game.

When you're passing in the ball in a game, and the other team's putting pressure on you, don't hassle. Stay calm and just look past them. That's what I do.

They easiest way is to block everything out. It's just practice you've gotta keep saying. Especially if you make a mistake... it's really alright caz the only thing that's gonna bring you down is yourself.
