Drogba truly deserved it !
That barcelonas' Eto'o was not match for him.
Drogba has been a great asset for chelsea , he has been a match winner. For an example , the carling cup final , he is too good !

I don't like Drogba's attitude Kasp, you know that, but he and Eto'o were to me the only and obvious choices for the award. However it is a legit point to mention Eto'o and his injury. The point margin in the end was close and you have to wonder what the outcome would have been had Eto'o not been layed up but playing for the 3 or 4 months he was missing. However, that was not the case so we will never really know.

Drogba, Essien, Eto'o. It's all a toss up. Personally I would have made it Eto'o because of his being able to create his shot, then Essien because he can play any position well (except for goalie). Drogba would be third because he does not waste many chances.

If Cameroon qualified for the WC, this would be a no brainer. Eto'o.. But unfortunately they didnt.
As MJ said.. Drogba was the only legit choice.

I like Chelsea but I don't like Drogba that much . I don't know I think he deserved it anyway.

It was between him, injured Eto'o who missed half of the season (winner of the last two btw) and his team mate Essien..... why wasn't he the winner last two years when Eto'o was playing........ he deserved it just like Cannavaro deserved FIFA WPOTY award, he was their only choice!!!!!
EDIT: Drogba 79 points, INJURED Eto'o 74 points....hahahhahaaaa!!!

Well only him,Eto'o and Essien have 2 different legs other african players have "2 left foots" if you know what i mean!cOMPETITION was awful...
