I think you're missing the point. Spring Training is exactly that, training. The games don't count anyway. The purpose is for the players to get their timing down and get ready for the regular season. As a fan I enjoy going to spring training game here in Florida just to get out in the fresh air and seeing the players close up.

Spring Training is just a way for all the players to get loose for the season. I don't think its really necessary it settle a tie. The standings don't matter. Its pretty much a glorified practice against another team. To be honest i could be partial to ties because I miss them in the NHL.

not at all. spring training is practice for the real season. What about splitting your team in two and playing two games in one day? is that fair? i really don't even look at the standings in spring training. if had cared about spring records, then last year I should have been dreadfully worried about my A's. They had a miserable spring record and then came out of 2006 wining their division and going to 2nd round of the playoffs.

The games mean nothing in the grand scheme of things.

Not really. Spring training games don't count for anything. Many teams win during spring training, and then have lousy regular seasons (and vice versa). Wins, losses (and ties) during spring training don't mean a thing.

No it doesnt matter. They are just practice games. Most of the guys arent busting their asses unless they are trying to either make the team, or get a starting job on the team. Personally I think that Spring Training is way too long to begin with.

No. There used to be ties, a practice stopped during one of the earliest World Series games (I forgot which). I would like to see that re-instated, let's say after 18 innings of play. To continue on after too many innings is false heroics - usually the bullpen of both teams is destroyed for a week or longer - plus the loss of sleep, particularly when added to jet lag, does not help.

This happens for many reasons. Some of the fields do not have proper lighting to continue and it limits the chance for injury. It is preseason and you do not want to lose a major player to injury while attempting to get in shape for the season. The season is long and hard on the body.

not nearly as much as the All Star Game being called a tie.

No.

It's spring training.
Managers want to see what's what.

It's not that big a deal.
