I know very little about my native merican ancestry however, my grandmother merely opened my eyes to a way of perceiving life. It had a profound influence on my world view. Over the years I have met many native americans living here in Australia or visitors from the USA. Some have been beautiful people living and talking in a way that reminded me of my grandmother. Others seemed to be very arogant and saw Australia as a good place to make money. Once I was asked to keep fire for a (won't mention her name) who was doing lodge for a group of young women. I heard her calling them white trash. I walked away from NACHA here in Australia because they would only allow not natives to join as full members some of these people worked tirelessly helping to get the association up and running. I became disillusioned. I have also been ashamed of being an Australian after a number of heartless responses to refugees and their involvement in the gulf war. Three years ago I developed severe anxiety

Don't let one woman or bad experience turn you away from who you are.

Don't ever be ashamed of who you are. Learn more about your culture. There are those out there who are good-hearted and will welcome you and teach you about your culture. Keep trying to find those people and ignore the rest.

What others have written are all good advices. But I want to
add something different.

Those persons have cast their 'wrath' on you. In addition to
the mental component, which gets pacified by these advices,
there will be a physical component. I will suggest on method
to pacify the physical component:

Buy a pair of bar magnets. Say 2 or 3 inches in length.
The material should preferebly be 'alnico' steel. If you do
not get it, any strong magnets will do.

Put one magnet on your bed one foot (12 inches) away
from your feet. Put the other one foot away from your
head. Keep rotating these magnets by 90 degrees every
three minutes.

If you do not have the above specified space on your bed,
you can put the magnets on some tables.
Put a few grains of (uncooked) white rice under the magnets.

this is possibly real that 70% of people think of they have interior of sight American ancestry, in view it is the story it is been exceeded down of their households. yet as you are able to assemble from the different solutions, it fact is extremely diverse. on a similar time as this is real that a number of those family contributors myths did in actuality stem from a mulatto ancestor, in my experience, the alleged "Cherokee great-grandmother" extremely often seems to be of a hundred% ecu descent. I even have self assurance that the first public of those memories did no longer originate as outright lies or coverups. i think of maximum of them began out as an harmless guess or assumption and developed into an undisputed family contributors legend. possibly a great-grandmother had an unusual call, or grew up in close to a close-by inhabitants; or perhaps there is an old image of her with long black braids. And somebody comments, "She sounds like an Indian lady." That will become "She could have been Indian" and then "She became into Indian"... and by utilising the time you hear it from great aunt Marge, you're an instantaneous descendant of Pocahontas or Sacajawea. human beings do no longer frequently question their family contributors's oral traditions (fantastically while this is a sort of cool one!), so the memories are propogated in the path of the generations till some pesky genealogist in the family contributors does the examine and spoils each and all of the exciting!

There are ignorant people all over the world, unfortunately.

It is hard when you become "enlightened" as it seems you have, and start to really recognize how many people are truly horrid to other people. I think it has to do with the ability to have empathy. I have discovered that people who haven't struggled much in their lives, or haven't travelled, or grew up in families that stayed in one place forever and never experienced other cultures, tend to lack empathy - the ability to put themselves in another's shoes.

Know that you are actually lucky that you are seemingly as smart as you are. I live in the US and it is really, really tough to deal with the crazy hatred of some of my fellow Americans. Really tough. But, I'm an American, and I know plenty of absolutely wonderful Americans. Try to remember the good people you come across. Getting this stuff off your chest here on the web and finding like-minded people, no matter where they are, will help.

Good luck and don't let them keep you down!

believe the way your heart tells you to believe. personally recommend you read the stories written by Black Elk, Fools Crow, Rainbow Eagle, Mad Bear John Marshall, 3rd. to give you an idea as to Native American/First Nations People Belief System. I have combined the Christian and Ancient Ways into my own
" customized version " of Religious Beliefs which works for me. As a final note please remember the only basic differences in one Religious Belief System and another are the Rituals and Ceremonies which are performed to Worship, Honor, Adore, Praise, Thank, Pray and Petition THE CREATOR OF US ALL.
