My husband and my son worked in heavy equipment and the one thing that worked was pinesol. soak for a while in hot water and then wash. next use your regular soap powder..Its hard to get the smell out but once you go through the powder cycle it will make a big difference...hope this helps..good luck

I was going to say to use something like Dish liquid or a degreaser in your wash to get the diesel out of it. BUT.. to get the smell out of them you may need to go to an automotive store or maybe even ANY store for that matter and purchase some kind of soap that the mechanics use to get the grease and stuff off their hands and see if it can be used in the laundry and if so, use that..But Im not real sure that YOU CAN get diesel or gas smell out of any clothing. I work at a truck stop that sells both gas and diesel and well the smell never does go away. But you could try anything.
