Nothing. The US doesn't need any more immigrants and we don't want them.

Yes, there are benifets. First of all, if you have any relatives that you want to immigrate to the United States the process is alot faster than if you are a lawful permanent resident. I mean it cuts years off the immigration process. Also, if for whatever reason, a person should find himself or herself on the wrong side of the law an American citizen cannot be deported from the United States.

Other benifets would include the ability to have a say in political issues thru the power of voting. Many government jobs require U.S. citizenship. The power of having a U.S. passport for travel. Many countries have international treaties with the U.S. that allow travel to and from without the need of a visa.

These are some of the benifets. I'm sure there are more.

Benefits - no visas when you travel (but check before you go - some countries require visas)
