Good or bad manager? Overrated or underrated? Perfect or needs to tone it down a bit?

He's a very good manager, an excellent baseball guy. However his act is eventually going to wear thin if he doesn't tone it down a bit. Aggressive managers (like Billy Martin) have had some success, but when you start letting your aggression, your temper get to the point where it's a distraction at times, it can't be a good thing. He's gotten in the face of two of his pitchers for not retaliating by hitting opposing hitters. In those cases, he put "settling the score" ahead of winning. I think eventually, he's going to mess with the wrong player and get into a physical confrontation. He also said that he would never verbally or physically attack another person unless they did it to him first, but last year he insulted A-Rod, calling him name because A-Rod was considering playing for the Dominican Republic in the WBC. The matter did not concern Ozzie at all.

Yes, he is a great baseball guy, but he needs to tone down the act. The tough guy image, with the cursing, the name-calling, and embarrassing players, that's going to wear thin eventually.

he is a very good manager who isn't afraid to risk his pitchers to put his team in the best position to win...he is underrated but i think part of that is because of his demeanor and the fact that he has made himself a controversial figure, so people tend to ignore his managerial skills...i actually think he is ok during games for the most part, he is no more fiery than lou piniella, but i think he'd better stop making gay slurs at chicago sportswriters

He's young so he sort of fits in with the players. They can joke around with him a have fun and stuff. It might be awkward with and old guy like joe torre

In my opinion, he seems like a pretty good manager. Not a CWS fan, though.
