Yes, there are programs out there to draw individuals from a variety of majors other than education into teaching. The best thing is to check with the individual schools and the districts. Also, there is the Teach for America program who seeks out teachers from other majors. Good luck!

Usually, if you do not have a bachelors degree in one area and are trying to get a masters in another area, you will have to take some background courses to make up for your lack of education in that field. How many you have to take is going to totally depend on the college you're looking into. Check out their department websites and see what you can find; if all else fails, email them and ask.

Interesting... I switched from Early Childhood Education to Business. It's easier to get a teaching job with a business degree.. compared to getting a business job w/ a degree in education. It would be extremely fulfilling to teach for a living, but I'm tired of being poor!

You will probably need to take some coursework to prepare for a masters degree in a different field.

How about getting a double major or majoring in business & minoring in ECE? Consult your advisor or student advising center. Also, check the requirements/prerequisites at the graduate schools you are considering.
