HELL NO!!! i would never use it, since it is racist and wrong, but banning the use of any world is blatant censorship, and a removal of the freedom of speech.

First, this is the first I have heard that NY is doing that but NY is a very progressive state these days and I am not surprised, they are also making it illegal to cross streets using cell phones and listening to music with head phones in your ear!

Ok, I feel like that is a good idea to make saying the "N" word a crime. I would imagine you would get fined for it but it's a good idea. Now, I am African American and I think that the people who it will effect the most will be mostly African Americans.

There are plenty of people who use the "N" word as a derogatory and dehumanizing word and should definately be punished for it. Than there are those who use it as a term of fellowship in a sence. I do know that all African Amercians don't use the "N" word, I personally don't and most of my friends and family don't as well. I feel like it shouldn't be a word that's alright to say no matter how you put it or mean it. So if you are African American and you say it and get caught than you get a fine, it's that simple.

So I think it is a good idea and hopefully the word wont come out of anyones mouths because it's not ok!

No worries

They didn't make it a crime, they passed an ordinance asking people not to use the word. There are no penalties for using it.

No, limiting free speech that we disagree with defeats the purpose of free speech. That word is ugly and unpleasant, but that doesn't mean we can make it illegal.

No, even whilst human beings yawn i don't. i like to play a interest with my acquaintances the place somebody will yawn and we observed who yawns first. I on no account oftentimes win except i'm sick with a chilly because of the fact i'm getting so drained it fairly is as though I stayed up an entire week with a wink of sleep.

It is important to note that the resolution passed to make saying the "N" word illegal is not binding and really has no enforceability. Which is good on many different levels. Free speech being one and another being the fact that African Americans consistently refer to each other using this vernacular.

NO...if this is true, it is a complete abrogaton of free speech. Nazis have the right to march, Klansmen have the right to assemble peacefully. If someone wants to say the N word, he/she should be free to do so.
