As democracy was adopted as the primary method of putting people into the Commons they claimed this as giving them greater authority than the Lords, as such the position of Prime Minister transfered to the Commons. I think Lord Wellington was the last Prime Minister to come from the Lords.

The House of Lords still is more powerful then the House of Commons

during reign of queen anne.after george d 3rd. when america gained indep n french rev coming on. then brits started to rattle their king,or queen n parliament. i mean after tht d p ministers were fr hse of commons n not lords. the 1800s brought a lot of change to britain.

It began about the year 1285. A king of that day called a parliament to ask for new taxes. These taxes were new. There was a stipulation in the Roman Law that what concerns all should be approved by all.
