I'm thinking about playing High School Football. I'm about 5 1/2 feet and 210 lbs, mainly fat. I want to build some muscle. What should I do?

I'm 5 1/2 feet, 210 lbs, 15 years old. I know I'm big, and need to loose weight.

I don't view myself as short. I'm one of the tallest people in my class.

Well, your actually good size if your a freshman, but you say youre 15, and that just seems a little late to really get in to football. If you want to burn the fat and build muscle do this: one day lift weights (biceps, back, and shoulders), the next day do roughly 30-60 minutes of quick pace walking (walking is the best way to burn fat), the next day lift weights (lower body, squats, situps, dead lifts), then the next walk again for 30-60 minutes, finally on the fifth day of the week lift weights (triceps and chest). Now you have the weekend to rest your body and have fun. During the week though, eat healthy, make sandwiches and try to stay under 2000 calories a day. When the weekend comes, you can eat a little more. But keep this up for a little while and you will notice major results.

5'6" 210 lbs? How old are you right now? Not to be discouraging, but you have to lose some weight, or bank on getting at least 3 inches taller, thats for a smaller position player like RB. But if you're going to be a runnigback, you have to be pretty lean and quick.
Good luck!

Work out. Lose weight. Start running to lose then begin weight lifting to build muscle.

Lose weight first and then start to weight train. You have the whole summer and now to do all that because season starts in September. GOOD LUCK.
