Alright in the U.K., the Conservative party would be on the right, Labour would be left of Center, and the Liberal Democrats would be on the left. At least that is how I understand it to be, I could be slightly wrong because im from the U.S.

In any Democracy, Communists are the extreme Left, Socialists, and Greens are pretty far to the left also. Most People fall into the middle, the Libertarian Party would most likely be categorized on the left. Nationalists are generally pretty far right. Falangists, Fascists, Nazis, and Religious Fundementalists are all to the extreme right.

People to the extreme left are called Radicals, people left of center are called Liberals, people in the center are called Moderates, people right of center are conservatives, and people on the extreme right are reactionaries.

In the U.S. the Democratic Party is just left of center, and the Republican Party is just right of center. Radical parties are generally called the same thing in every western democracy.

The first two answerers are American, never mind them.

Left wing is anything socialist or for the people - Social Democrats for example. The right wing is the one that is for rich people and not so much poor - like the Tories, or anything nationalist. And, just as you may guess, centre is somewhere in between the two extreme sides.

More examples:
a party with communist beleifs would be LEFT
a party that has social ideas would be LEFT
a party that wants the country to be nationalist is RIGHT
a party that would prefer a kingdom to a democracy is RIGHT

nicely, it absolutely relies upon on what are you attempting to finish and if achieving that objective is worth all the panic assaults? in case you actually pick to pass to the party to get over a terror, then convey a buddy or 2 to make you sense extra tender. :D Remind your self to grin, be positive, and perhaps make some new acquaintances.

Back in medieval times "left" used to be evil.... they would burn people who were left handed. That's why liberals are left wing...
