Without using biblical quotes or parroting right-wing propaganda, I would like to understand why you think homosexuality is wrong.

I was a pastor for 15 years. I consider myself a disciple of Christ. In no way do I believe that homosexuality is wrong. Not at all.

It is not! But people who want to manipulate and or stifle you
will use any lie thay can cook up to do so!
What did Jesus say on homosexuality? Nothing.
What does the bible say? Nothing, cause homosexuality, as
a word and scientific (or clinical) definition did not exist
prior to 1940. Fact, jack! Look it up in APA Journals!
Yes, there were same sex couples since humanity began,
but they weren't called "homosexual" till the late 20th century.
So how could the Bible or any religious doctrine over a
hundred years old "condemn" homosexuality when it technically
did not exist as a word or defition then???
Those who condemn it the loudest are repressed homos
themselves, unable to accept or love themselves, and thus
incapable of loving others or even showing compassion.
And did not Jesus say to love your neighbor, your brother
as you loveyourself? Gay people generally do this better
than any self-declared religious zealot!
The question should be "what is wrong with hetereosexuals
who think homosexuality is wrong?"

I don't think homosexuality is wrong, I think it's a way of life for certain people. I just wanted to say that what people fail to realize is that homosexuality is not just a human thing. For example: The dog breed of Poodle is known to be a gay breed. If you take 2 males and 1 female poodle in a room the males will tend to stay far away from the female.
There are many species which inhibit homosexual tendencies, just like there are many species which inhibit asexual tendencies. In fact, I can't think of what it is right now, but in my college Biology class we learned that there is actually in existance a species which every member of it is female.
People think it's wrong BECAUSE of religious and right-wing propaganda. It's become a big commercial debate anymore. What I find funny are the bible thumpers who say "If you're Gay you're going to Hell even if you repent sins and love Christ, but if you're a murderer and you repent sins and love Christ you'll go to heaven." That's what I don't buy. I say if the WORST thing a person does in life is be Gay, who cares? It's not your place or mine to say someone's right or wrong for what they believe, because it's not your place to judge someone. We all pass judgement on everyone else, but truth is that is NOT a right you have.

I don't think there is one person who thinks it's wrong that can say why without resorting to out-of-context biblical quotes, right wing propaganda...OR saying it's gross or because we "can't reproduce." sorry, we CAN and DO reproduce. and, if it's wrong because of not reproducing, then infertile straight couples or straight couples who don't want kids shouldn't be allowed to get married? or how about my mom and my step-dad who were both widowed, and get remarried to each other when they were in their 50's and pass child-bearing years? should they have not been allowed to get married, too?
people come up with a lot of ridiculous "reasons" to say why it's wrong. but it's always using one of these "reasons" which are all based on lies, assumptions and generalizing stereotypes.

Loving someone is wrong?
Oh goodness. I guess I'd better tell everyone I hate them from now on.
But then. I'd only be more depressed as a teenager.
Then die.
Wether homosexuality is wrong or not. The Gov't or Homophobes will never stop me from loving whomever I want.
Straight people have that right. No one takes that right from them...

In reality, it isn't.
Some religious people beleive it is. They beleive that it is wrong because a book tells them to beleive that.
Some Ignorant people beleive it is wrong. They beleive it because they are close minded, and they don't stop to think about what it must be like to have a sexual orientation other than their own.
In short: homoseuxality is an orientation over which the individual has no control, just as a sexual orientation towards members of the other sex is. Weather its caused by genetics, a brain disorder, or whatever it doesn't matter. It's not choice, it doesn't harm anybody, so why should it be wrong?

Well, if you don't believe in God and the bible for which is the basis for all laws and morality then I guess being gay is ok. But on the other hand, if you don't believe in God, laws, and morality then I guess anarchy, rape, starvation, crime etc is ok to. I mean if everyone was gay, the human race would cease to exist in about 3 or 4 generations. So it is morally wrong and it would end the human race after a few generations.

* "It's against nature," despite over 1500+ species that exhibit gay behavior
* "LGBT people can't reproduce," despite the fact that we can, and does that make people who can't or choose not to have children "evil" also?
* references to polygamy and pedophilia, which are completely different than love between two consenting adults
* "AIDS, HIV, etc." which of course is a virus, not a "gay disease," - viruses do not poll the victim's sexual orientation, and most of the AIDS cases in the world are heterosexual
* and then you will get the people who just didn't read the question and cannot stop thumping their bibles anyway.

There's nothing wrong with it. I am straight and I see it as perfectly acceptable and normal. I just wish the rest of society would realize that.

Homosexuality is only wrong in certain peoples eyes. I think this is an opinion and can not be said to be wrong or right. The bible says its wrong but that is also just a belief so whatever your thoughts are on it is what will make it right or wrong. Don't let other people tell you what wrong is.
