For the first 2 months of pregnancy I've been taking a really expensive, triple tested for mucury fish oil pill. My doctor said not to because of the risk of toxins. I thought there was less of a risk taking the pills then eating fish. But I have since stop because something I read about too much vitamin A in the fish oil plus the Vitamin A in prenatal pill which I also have been taking. They don't even want pregnant women to use skin creams with Vitaman A in them for risk of birth defects. I hope I haven't cause any damage to my baby because of this.

pray that you havent done damage and stop taking it.

try a good prenatal and folic acid supplement instead. folic acid can prevent and in some cases repair damage done.

vitamin k is also helpful. califlower, spinach, greens, brocoli, and cabbage are all very good for you to eat.

Don´t worry, I am sure you haven’t done any damage to your baby.

I am sorry to tell you that your doctor is wrong when he order you to stop taking the fish oil. You were right, fish oil supplements are far more secure taking that the real thing, fish. Too much mercury in those.

There is NO vitamin A in fish oil. In cod liver oil there is vitamin A and D, but not in fish oil. Zero…

Now, you should start taking fish oil capsules every day. Make sure is a molecular distilled type of fish oil, it has almost zero mercury contamination.

When I was pregnant with my second son, my older son's pediatrician recommended that I take fish oil for the baby to get omega-3 (has DHA in it) so I did. Now that I'm pregnant with my 3rd, my doctor recommended a new product by Enfamil that is a DHA/Omega-3 supplement. It's very expensive, 30 pills for about $11. So I'm sticking with fish oil, one tested for mercury and organic. Our pediatrician is BIG TIME into mercury studies (does it on the side) and would have never recommended it if he felt the mercury levels were unsafe.

I take Omega 3 fatty acids, no one has told me that it is wrong or harmful to take. I wouldn't stop taking them! They test the fish oil to make sure it doesn't have toxins or mercury.
