What does the phrase "puppy love" mean? I have heard it a lot recently and would like to know what it means.

It just describes young people who say they're in love. Teenagers, who say they love their boyfriend or girlfriend, but they're too young to know what love is. They all think they know what it is though. When you get older and experience real love you'll understand what puppy love was.

Well, it's basically just saying that it's someone who is pretty young, and think they are in love with someone. And since they are young, they're calling them puppies. People say young people don't know what love is, but I think they understand love, just maybe a different meaning than the older people!

It's comparing the love that young teenagers or pre-teens feel with the love they would have for a puppy; basically saying they don't really love each other any more than they would a puppy.

puppy love it like playful love, that is more of a crush then real love. it's like the first time you mean someone you like and you get the "butterflies in your stomach" feeling. sometimes puppy love turns into real love that gives you feeling that are more emotional. i guess puppy love is just another term for a "crush" on someone. innocent and playful.
