That bubble is accumulated fluid from a bacteria infection. If left untreated it will damage the fishes eye and probbaly kill the fish. You need to treat with an antibiotic. Furanace or Marycn are the best choices and most pet shops carry one or the other. Treat as directed on the box for at least 2 weeks. Be sure to remove the carbon from the filter or it will remove your medication from the water.

Ha ha the above answer is just to funny I do not think she knows what a barb is!!! ha ha It is called bubble eye (there are several names for it) It is caused by several things Bactria or a parisite. Most often there is nothing you can do. I have treated wuith medication before for this thing and the fish ends up dieing anyway. I would suggest doing a water change and removing the infected fish from the tank so the other do not get sick.

Good Luck

If it's just one eye, it is probably due to an injury. Either your fish was attacked by one of your other fish, or ran its eye into an ornament or bit of gravel. The best treatment is to keep the water as clean as possible.

I suggest taking it to the vet to prevent any further complications.
You could ask your vet for medication.
