Ex-Lax is an over the counter laxative that you can buy in many supermarkets and drugstores. Basically, it causes the bowels to relax and promotes regular bowel movements. Often used in pranks (because it can come as chocolate flavored, and be added to brownies) to cause someone to eat it and get embarassing diarrhea.

It is an over-the-counter liquid substance that, when consumed, causes the user to have a bowel movement. A comical use of this kind of product (not specially ex-lax though) can be found in the movie Dumb and Dumber.

Ex-Lax is a stimulant laxative that contains phenolphthalein (or used to anyway) If used to access it can be quite dangerous causing diarrhea and even bleeding.
It might seem to be funny but it is not.

It's a laxative. When used appropriately it will be okay for you if you are constipated. Do not abuse it.

It isn't liquid. It is a chocolated laxative - looks like a candy bar (in its most popular, historical form).
Did someone bake you a cake?
