Agusta National is constantly replacing plants... call and ask them if you can have their old plants.

Also, any theme parks nearby replace plants early spring. They don't want them getting huge over the summer! Many times they sell them for a very cheap price, just to cover the labor of digging them up and finding a pot for them.

Contact your local county extension agent and ask about gardening clubs or seed swappers. Also there is a magazine called "Birds and Blooms" that sponsors a plant giveaway and trading section.

Try your local high school FFA club. Ours raise plants in a green house every semster for class credit then have to dispose of them usually in the spring.

Check with your neighbors. If you see them outside working in their yard let them know that you would be willing to take plants that they might not have room for.

Check and see if there is a freecycle yahoo group in that area, then do a search on plants.
