They grew it primarily to make clothes and rope out of.
Sure. They also did lots of stuff we don't do any more.
(Had slaves, denied their wives the right to vote, bled sick people to death to "cure" them, etc.)
I think that Nylon makes better rope than hemp. Anyway, you are only interested because u want to smoke dope legally.
