Yes, WAY past time. The gambling thing he did while he was a manager, not a player. It shouldn't have any effect on what he accomplished as a player, and they have made him suffer long enough.

They put guys in the hall of fame who have been busted with drugs, spousal abuse, you name it. It's never made any sense why Pete isn't in..

No. There is only one unpardonable crime in baseball. That is gambling on baseball. It has always been gambling on baseball. Pete Rose knew this, its drummed into every players mind at spring training and Rose has an extensive knowledge of baseball history and tradition. I think that 12 of the 14 permanantly barred ballplayers were done so on gambling. Pete has admitted that he did gamble, after 14 yrs of denying it Pete was a great ballplayer, but so was Joe Jackson, Eddie Cicotte and Buck Weaver. The punishment was well known when Pete did it, which was a lifetime suspensin from baseball. Rose wasnt blindsided. He knew exactly the consequences that he would recieve if he was caught

definetely. if the hall of fame picked people by their attitudes, there would be a small group of players in the hall of fame. pete Rose should without a doubt be inducted. he was an amazing hitter, and always hustled. sort of like today's derek jeter, ( a little rougher around the edges). The hall of fame is supposed to be based on pure talent, and he was one of the best hitters in the game.

Yes...definitely...if he was being considered to go into the Hall as a manager than the answer would be no. But he is a sure-fire Hall of Famer as a player....He should never be allowed to manage again, or for that matter work in the sport, but he should be allowed his rightful place with the other greats of the game.

He should absolutely be in the Hall of Fame. He did bet on games as a manager, but he never bet against his team and he never made any managerial moves that would have kept his team from winning. I don't think he really did anything to compromise the integrity of the game, but as long as Bud Selig is the commissioner of baseball he won't be inducted.

Yes because he would go in based on his playing skills, and he has apoligized, ofcourse he did so during his book release, but he did apoligize, I think it is wrong to keep him out. Mark McGwire will get in, and if he does why not Rose. McGwire took steroids and is a cheater, atleast Pete Rose didnt cheat or enhance his performance, MR Charlie Hustle is all natural. 100 percent yes.

oh, i was wondering when someone was going to ask this question again. now i know.

Here it is. If you had asked Pete, before he had ever bet on baseball, what would happen if a player got caught betting on baseball. He would have told you that the player would receive a lifetime ban from baseball. Get it?

Nothing has changed.

Pete signed his ban. He admitted to betting on baseball while he was manager. He has not apologized or done anything to try to make up for what he has done. He stays OUT.
