I met my husband online 11 years ago. We didn't meet through a dating service though. We talked for 10 months before we met.

He moved from Seattle to Texas so we could be together. My advice is to just enjoy each other before meeting - let them get to know the real you and see where it goes. We had some of the most meaningful conversations and I remember them fondly.

BE HONEST. Don't say you are something you're not. If you say you are 120 lbs and he meets you and you are 180 he's going to wonder what else you lie about. If you say you have no kids or just dance around it, he's gonna be pissed when he finds out.

I met my now-wife on the IRC (anyone remember that?) in 1995.

If ENCOUNTERS are what you are after you will have an easy time finding loads of those......

I did not meet my husband there, but I had some awesome dates. I would say, just always meet in a public place, just in case he turns out to be psycho! And, be honest. If you claim that you are 5'7" and 120 lbs. with gorgeous green eyes and you really have brown eyes and are 5'3" weighing 180 pounds, it will all come out really fast if you ever really wanted to meet for a date. So, honesty is the best way to be.

I've never done it myself, but my sister is currently dating on line after a nasty divorce and is having a blast! A friend from work met his wife on-line. They have been married for eight years and have two children. They are very, very happy!

It just depends on who you meet, and the type of person you want, and you have to very careful!

I have yes, but lots of men/women are out there for just sex. You CAN meet good people tho. Just be careful which dating sites you go to and that they are reputable. Don't jump into "meeting" to soon. Get to know the person. Talk on the phone...and good Luck.

there are lots of nice people about, try www.udate.com just arrange to meet up (if u do) in a public bar, you can just chat away till your hearts content, there are a few dating sites but that one is good too, i think you can try it out for free for a few days too. its all good stuff , no horror stories to report, it makes it easier to cvhat to people without the need to break the ice like in a bar

I'm married to a person I met online. To me, that's a successful encounter!

Tip: give it a try; you've got nothing to lose. Use your common sense, and see where it takes you.

It's good. I know there are horror stories but there are a lot of good people on the internet. there are creeps in real life too.
