I have heard that beeswax is not very good for the skin. What are the pros and cons? Any good websites to support pros and cons?

Some people say that beeswax creates a waterproof film on the skin preventing it from breathing, but that's not true (however, any mineral oil does create this kind of film, which chokes the skin and leads both to dehydratation and break-out).
In fact, beeswax is softening, emollient, has antioxidant properties and works as a great emulsifier. Emulsifier is the key ingredient to make the water phase and the oil phase of a cream or lotion stay well mixed together. And I much rather prefer my emulsifier to be beeswax or vegetal wax than any synthetic and cheap wax that is usually used by the so-called "beauty" industry.
