I use Merle Norman.
I guess it depends on your skin type, but most lines have for all different types. Go to a cosmetologist and have your skin analyzed.

Ben Nye has a few nice kits, both for theater and film makeup.
It is a good basis for a kit. However, for other makeup I would suggest MAC, Bobbi Brown and Smashbox. Depending on what you would like to do makeup for.

Kit Should Include:
Foundations - wide range
Concealers - wide range
Moisturizer
Contour and Highlight colours
Eye Liner (liquid, stick, cream or gel) - wide range
Eye Shadow and Pigments - wide range
Mascaras (range of colour) and individual fake lashes
Lash glue
Body paint colours (MAC has good ones)
Lip Liners - wide range
Lip Sticks - wide range (can mix your own colours)
Gloss and chapstick
scar and nose wax
Brushes (good ones, they'll last longer)
Liquid Latex
Nail polish
Sponges
Q-tips
Cotton balls
Face Wipes (Tea Tree from Body Shop are good)
Paper Towels and Tissues
Makeup Remover
Bobbi Pins
Duck Bill Clips
Palette Knife (so you can stay sanitary and mix colours)
Palette

.the first step to being a good makeup artist would be mixing foundation colours from pure Red, Blue, and Yellow.

Good Luck!

It's a shame you feel that way about Mary Kay. Especially since they have been the #1 Company for Skin Care and Color Cosmetics for 13 consecutive years. Sorry I can't suggest anything else, it's the only thing I will ever wear or promote again!!! Good Luck!

Screenface does great pro kits - I've listed it below. They're slightly biased towards stage and screen make-up. I don't know from your question whether it's this you want or something more like daily personal make-up.

If you want daily cosmetic make-up, you'll probably do better to go to somewhere like Shu Uemura (listed below) and make a kit up from their amazing collections of brushes, boxes, products etc. A lot of pro artists use Shu Uemura, but mostly they choose the actual contents of the kit individually.

No way!it particularly is a well being risk to not point out high priced..they might use the purchasers makeup yet with a customer paying to have it carried out they might prefer extra perfect high quality make up used on them such because of the fact the artist has on his or her pallette..

I LOVE E.L.F. Their brushes are like professional one and their makeup is awesome. Not to mention that everything is a $1!!!!! I love this brand and i hope you do too. You can build your own kit. Like u can buy the bag and they give you the option to stuff it. It is awesome.

There are alot of places fro MAC to ULTA to Yvonne Quellette. It Just depends on

how many times you going use it?

What all your clients like?

what is yout style?

Sometimes you have to buy things separate , thats what I did. Escpecially after I got my first one, cause as you get more customers/clients everyone has different taste and different complexions and things. So it really depends on how much you wanna spend.

They can start at 70-200+
