Write an equation or inequality to represent this situation. Then, solve it .
The school drama club's production of "High School Musical" is going to cost $1500 to produce. How many $12 tickets will they need to sell in order to make a profit of at least $750 ?
Please remember that the question said "At least $750" and that's what confused me.

The "at least" is where you get the inequality. If profit = p, then that says

p >= 750

So, using t for tickets, your equation will be

12t - 1500 >= 750

and you can solve from there.

1500 + 750 = X
x divided by 12 = y then round up

1500+750=2250
12x= greater than or equal to 2250

2250/12=188

this means that 12(188) is 2256. the answer would they would have to sell tickets188

it means that they will need to raise at least $2250 total to make up for the costs of production. So they would need to sell at least 188 tickets, but since it is High school musical the odds of them doing that are pretty slim.
