I remember there was a life before the net. And my butt was not sore. Are we better off now?

Heck yeah. Without the internet we wouldn't have the ability to access tons of information instantly. Nor would we be able to see that fat kid weild a lightsaber, and I would not have met my Wife.

The Sore Butt User's Rule Book
===================

1 Lose the chair - compute standing up!
When your legs get tired, think ..

2. Moderation in all things.

3. Remember you have a life. Think Green - Power Off,
so that there are nice long periods when strange
coloured lights don't emanate from that even stranger
rectangular window ..

4. See Rule 1.

The net has done a great deal of good and bad. The internet has revolutionized the stock market making it easier to buy and sell stocks fast. It has also helped us get information fast in a fast growing world. There is some bad on the net, but the good outnubers the bad 100 to 1. The internet connects so many people, makes easier to communicate, and does so much more that would take forever to explain.

As with ANYTHING, you'll get people that will say it's a good thing and those that'll say it's nothing but trouble. Then there are others that see both the good and the bad of it.

Just like the gun argument (and several other controversial issues), the internet itself isn't a bad thing; it's what us humans do with it that introduces bad things.

I think it's done more good than bad. Unfortunately, the bad always gets more attention than the good.

Well, the internet saves money, time, and you can buy stuff without paying for gas. After all, what are you using now while you are reading this?

No, I don't think so. Things may be easier, but that doesn't automatically mean that we're better off. We're a lot lazier.

Yes.Think about it this way, if we didn't have the internet, you would have to go door to door to take this survey. You couldn't play online games, or talk to your friends with IM. How could we live without it!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
We can't! If we are evolved enough to have it, why not use it
