My betta keeps darting around his bowl, he keeps going through the plants and just thrasing around. I think he might have ick because that was a symptom but he doesnt have any signs of the white salt looking spots and he eats well and the bowl is clean and he still as his colour.

If you don;t see the white spots he certainly doesn't have ick. It sounds to me like you just have a very active betta. As long as he is swimming normally and eating you have nothing really to worry about.

if it's not ick it's an external parasite of some sort.

turn up the temp to around 80°F or 85° but no higher. add about 1/2 a teaspoon or aquarium salt for every gallon of what he's in. if you would like you can also go to your local pet store and get parasite treatment.

it depends on how long you had him he could be getting use to his surroundings or if it is ick you want know till its to late try some ick away and somthing for parasites you might want to fell the inside of the bowel to see if it is slimy cause ick dose not always cloud the water if that dont work take him to a vet that works with aqutic creatures

Rubbing against things is also a sign of velvet. See betta talk link for details. Also I've noted that rubbing against things may occur before ich's white dot show up.

how old is he? if hes a brand new fish hes just getting used to his suroundings. i would definitely buy the ich medicine if i were you because it is a possibility. ich is a virus that lives under the skin of the fish, slowly eating its insides untill it bursts out of the scales of the fish and ultimately kills it. when u start seeing the white spots you are past the point of no return. keep an eye on him and get that medicine ASAP. better safe than sorry, right? good luck and i hope your betta is alright! ^_^

if he's looking irritated and scratching on decor, it could be ich or an external parasite. keep the water very clean, and treat with an external parasite med (makes will depend on what country you live in!)
