First I started to have the monitor problem. Everytime I am working in my PC and especially looking at pictures my sreen would go blank and come back up after 1 second.

Then, I started to have problems when my PC would be shut down in a wrong way (not by using the mouse). The PC restarts itself for about 7 times in a row until it "stabilizes". The restarts have happened for no reason at all at the same time.

In the past, I have reformated the PC but these problems keep coming back. I am at a point now that I can't reformat my hard drive any more since the PC restarts at a certain point of the reformat.

I use a router and my brother has set up a network with his PC and laptop. I think that my problem is a compatibility issue, but I am not sure which hardware.

Please, help!

Thanks in advance!

Based on your symptoms you may have a bad video card or it may be overheating. Open the case and blow out all the dust. Leave the case open and try your reformat. If it happens again, replace the video card. If it still happens then your motherboard may be the culprit - especially if you are using on-board video.

Bad Video card may be 1. U might wanna bring the screen resolution down and try to increase the frequency. Network and router is not the issue for sure. Also, take off the check box where it says " Restart System if You have hardware conflict. I would given you more clear direction if I knew you version of OS.
Good Luck.

There are two likely reasons.
1) You got a virus and it is forcing you to restart. You may need to download an antivirus software (I suggest www.nod32.com) to get rid of viruses.

2) Your computer's power supply box is not supplying enough electricity to all the hardware in your computer. If you JUST installed a new graphics card for example, it's very common for people to forget about installing new power supply box. Because your graphics card may demand more electricity than the previous card, hence your comptuer is no longer stable after installing the new card. In which case, you need to go buy and install a better power suppy.

Sounds like a lot of viruses taking over all your memory space and then the computer cant handle it so shuts off.
