Not the doors...they were sloppy at best...with Jimmy in his prime I'd say Zepplin; Jimmy Page was very tight and played very complex stuff...tons of cords, mostly played in 7/8. The yardbirds were also good...

Led Zepplin had a highly technically proficient musician as every member of their band but they were more than just a technically proficient band.

The Beatles. Before them only 3 or 4 songs on an album were good. They're albums, most of which they wrote, had 8 to 10 good songs on each one. Now it's gone back to 3 to 4 good songs to a CD.
Mick Jagger confessed to amazement when Paul and John sat down and wrote a song together in about 15 minutes.
