Kill what? A mosquito that is sucking my blood, a horsefly trying to bite me or a chicken I want to eat for dinner? I can think of good reasons, that are quite obvious, for killing all the above and a host of other things. But, if you are talking about people ---- well that, as they say, is a horse of a different color. There are a myriad of reason one human kills another. Jealousy, hatred, covetousness, spite, pleasure, sex and many more. The list is long and not being a killer myself, except for that pesky mosquito, I can't really say why one person kills another. I have wanted to kill someone at various times -- the bast**d that cuts me off in traffic, the SOB that stole my girlfriend back in college or the bully in high school. But I am a decent human so don't do it. I bet that chicken doesn't think so though!!!

Why Do People Kill?

Every crime is a mystery story with a motive at its heart. Understand the motive and the mystery is solved. From seemingly ordinary men who suddenly kill their families or go on a rampage in the workplace, to dedicated murderers who embark on the kind of spree that resulted in the death of fashion designer Gianni Versace, the question remains the same; why? Why do people kill?

People kill for numerous amounts of reasons. One motive may be revenge. Usually, when someone kills out of vengeance, they do not think clearly, resulting in the instant decision to kill based on anger. Though most vengeful killings are not thought through or premeditated, some killings are. Certain vengeful killers filled with jealousy, anger, hatred, or a hunger for revenge may plan the definitive killing of a person or group of people using an intricate plan thought out for days, months, or even years. Although revenge may be one of the main reasons people kill, it is not the only one.

Dedicated murderers, serial killers, or those who are clinically insane murder people as a living. These killers think of it as a way of life, as if killing is like oxygen; they need to kill to live and breathe. Many of theses killers have sick minds that fabricate convoluted thoughts of torture, mutilation, rape, and any other horrible thing their mind can think of to carry out on their victims. These sick men and women become ill from a number of reasons. These reasons may be simple, such as being born with the mental illness, or more complex and scarring situations in which the killer was abused or molested as a child. Any cause can lead to the psychological damage of someone, thus producing an insane serial killer, but no matter the reason for someone being clinically insane and unstable, the consequences remain the same.

A more peculiar and unusual reason someone may kill is out of mercy. About two years ago, a mercy killing story shocked locals in California, as well as people all over the U.S. An autopsy had been completed on a recently deceased cancer patient that concluded the patient had died from poisoning, not cancer. The nurse that was in charge of taking care of the patient was questioned, and then confessed to killing the patient by injection. The nurse claimed that the patient told him to do so, and that he felt sorry for all the pain the patient was going through.

No matter what scenario a murder is committed in: arson, hijacking, bombing, poisoning, serial and spree killings, or mass murders, the result remains the same; the loss of a human life. Whether it be someone familiar, or a complete stranger, there is no excuse to kill. There is only reason and motive. Only from clues left behind at crime scenes and from killers’ confessions, the question why do people kill is answered.

Ummm, i'm not sure if i know but i'll take a shot at it. I think people kill because they think it resolves their problem. Or if they grew up in a violent family or a violent enviroment or place, I think that affects kids a lot so they might pick it up. Or if they've seen a lot of violence throughout their life, like if they were in the war and saw people die that could really affect people and make them want to kill!

The natural man is a beast, brutes, murderer. If it weren't for "Christians" or should I say "people of God". Man would destroy each other, this planet and himself. Man without God is, lost and hell bound, he is a corpse, a zombie, the walking dead. What's sad about this state of man. Is he doesn't even realize it.
