Neither side of the road is the 'wrong' side, they are just different in different countries.

Anyone living in England most likely does know that other countries drive on different sides, if that's what you're asking.

If they drove on the other side of the road, the entrance and exit ramps on the motorways wouldn't work. So they drive on the correct side of the road. Not to mention the traffic lights would be backwards !

Actually as England was a colonised country before the USofA, we actually keep to the correct side of the road...goes back to days of old when knights on horseback....most of whom would have been right handed... were able to draw their swords to defend themselves should they meet up with the enemy coming the other way...

In actual fact we are not the only country in the world to drive on the left...here is an interesting site for you to peruse at your leisure...

No, but they are.

If you're right handed and you need to swerve and have no time to think, you'll typically swerve to the right, and the other way around if you're left-handed. Since more people are right handed, that's more people who, in England, will swerve into oncoming traffic. Studies have shown there are far more fatal traffic accidents in England and the few other countries where they drive on the left side of the road.

Hmm...do you think they wonder if WE know that WE are driving on the wrong side of the road?? (Technically though, we DO drive on the RIGHT side, and they drive on the LEFT!)

For one, if we know that they drive on the opposite side as us don't you think they would know the that too? Who's to say they drive on the wrong side? Maybe we drive on the wrong side.

no. because to them, it has always been that way, they have never known it otherwise, therefor it is the right side of the road to them. they probably think we drive on the wrong side of the road.

I'm an Aussie, and i'm so relieved to learn that we can actually blame the English for all our quirks, such as driving on the left hand side.

(It's got to be their silly idea right?)
