I have a dwarf hamster and two guinea pigs, I was wondering if they could be put together, like as friends. My guinea pig is about 1 year old, and my hamster is 2 years old but my hamster bites. Do you think I could put them together?

No, each rodent species needs to be housed separately. There are no two species of rodent that co-habitat in the wild and forcing them to do so in captivity will cause each of them a great deal of stress. A guinea pig could easily kill a hamster, especially a dwarf hamster. The dwarf hamster is likely to attack the guinea pig. There will be no great friendship. A guinea pig also has different caging requirements than a hamster and I've yet to see a guinea pig cage with bars small enough to keep a hamster contained. Their diets are also significantly different and offering both foods in the same cage is not an option as they will likely eat one anothers food. Seeing that you've had both of them for quite awhile, they already have their own cages so leave them where they are.

You should absolulty not put them together! Hamsters and guinea pigs may look a little bit alike but they are actually quite different and putting them together will likely cause fighting. Your hamster will likely bite the pigs and the pigs will likely bite back. This could actually cause permanent issues among your pets due to the stress that would be involved in this type of situation. They should also not be combined because they should be eating different foods and hamsters like to burry themselves under shavings will the guinea pigs typically prefer to stay on top of shavings. Your pets would also be more likely to contract illness from being overcrowed and the hamsters could get trampled on by the guinea pigs.

only if you put the hamster in the pigs cage. and don't leave them alone. keep an eye on them to be sure they don't fight. i used to put a male hamster in with a male pig and they were fine. they really didn't pay attention to each other.

NO! Do not house hamsters and guinea pigs together. They WILL fight, and they can even kill each other. Hamsters are extremely territorial. The idea may be cute, but please do not do it.
