Ok, my question is kind of dumb, but really, I am a good singer, I am not GREAT but I am alright. In order to be very good, are you born with a beautiful singing voice, or do you have to practice to get it? Thanks

i am by no means a singer, but i think it would be like absolutly anything else. there will always be those people who are born with it and those who are born with an average ability and then even those with no ability. but in the end those who really excel are those who work at it. granted someone born with no ability may never get a record deal no matter how hard they work simply because something in their genetics creates a sort of ceiling but someone with great natural talent will probably also never get a record deal if they dont work at it. i feel that if you have some talent then its the hard work that will bring you the rest of the way to the top. i am not sure i vocalized that very well, but hopefully you get my point. hard work is what will make the big difference

I think that some people are born with a natural singing voice, but I do know that a lot of professional singers take voice lessons. I guess it is like most everything else..practice makes perfect. Most people I know can't sing for crap including myself. If you think you've got it go for it. You never know until you try.

Some people are born natural singers, but others can sing, and need to practice in order to be very good.

Yes.

You only start with a good voice. But practice isn't enough. You also need to get real training. Otherwise 'practice' could end up damaging your vocal chords. This happened to a number of rock singers back in the '60's and early '70's.

You have to be born with some talent, but practice can take you so far if your voice isn't bad. If you have no talent you can't practice to become good, not everyone is meant to be a singer. If your voice is good, then practice and it will get better.

i think a person can be born with some talent, and others with no talent, and tone deaf. But no matter how talented a person is, they still need to practice. The more a person practices at something the more they will improve and change, or when satisified at where they are they practice to maintain that level. there's always practicing involved, even if they're born with the talent.

Definitely, you have to be born with a lot of talent and singing and a naturally good voice. If you don't possess these qualities, it is extremely difficult to make it in the singing world. Also, you have to be unique and creaitve with your voice. Not like most people and yet different in a way that people will like you rare form of singing.

Both. Some are blessed with a good singing voice and need to practice to keep it in good shape . Then you got people that carry a tune in a bucket and it don't matter if they practice or not their not going to get better because they are tone deaf.

Both but tell me you didn't know this already.

You need to learn breath control as well as to read music. Some people make it without being able to read music but they are far and few between. Even the heaviest metal bands can read music.

Style is something you'll develop on your own but be sure you listen to the feedback with your feelers hidden. Don't take it personally. Remember, not everyone is going to like the style of music you decide to do but, when you hear certain criticisms repetitively, stop and listen.

Good luck, sweetie.
