Routers have an administrator username and password to prevent unauthorized changes to the router. If you've lost that password, the ONLY way you're going to be able to make changes, like opening up that port, is to reset the router to the factory defaults which includes the username and password.

The pin hole in the back of the router is used to do this. You must push a little pin or something in to reset the device. Get the manual (or look at their on-line docs) to make sure you're resetting it correctly.

Once reset, you'll need to reset all of the configuration items.

Try the Windows Firewall setting. Open that port number. Control Panel | Windows Firewall. Click on the Advanced tab, highlight your network connection and press the Settings button. The services tab of the next screen allows you to add a port manually. Put a name for the service, the IP of the service (your router IP 192.168.0.1, most likely) and the port number in both fields. Try that. To configure your router you need to log onto it using Internet Explorer. Typr in http://192.168.0.1 in the address field and press enter. It should try to log in. If you've never changed you logon info it is probably username: "admin", password: "password" or "admin". You may have to open that prot number there also.

You can either set it to original factory settings by the manual, or unplug the unit for a while, remove any installed program for it, then start the install over from scratch.
