My boyfriend, I found out, is getting me a white gold promise ring from Dunkin's Diamonds. I wanna get him a promise ring, too, but I don't know if it should be a plain gold band or what? Where can I get men's promise rings besides e-bay? Some website links would be appreciated.

I don't have a lot of money. I'm currently looking for a job.

A plain gold band or something is likely best - most guys do not like fancy rings.

Men don't typically want jewelry. Getting him a ring before marriage may just be a burden to him.

Engagement rings are typically only worn by women, so I don't see why a promise ring would be any different.

Then again I don't know what a promise ring is supposed to mean. I promise to buy you an engagement ring? Whatever.

It might be a bit pretentious to acquire a "promise ring" for your guy.

I don't think that you need to get him one. Accepting the one he will give you is promise enough.
