I'd look at you league's player rankings and see who you'd get at 20 and 21. I'd take the first pick and take Albert. At 20 and 21 in my league are guys like Bay, Vlad, Manny, Rollins, Jeter, K-Rod, Carpenter, and Webb still on the board in the predictions page. Albert plus two of these other guys make a great foundation to build upon. And since I'm a Cards fan, I'd take the first pick and Albert. Good luck.

take 1 or 10. If you really want pujols take 1. Otherwise 10 is the best because that way you will get picks 10 and 11. Im looking at the yahoo rankings right now and after spot 12 the pool of players seems to go down so if you are last you can get 2 very good players.

Unfortunately, it's dependant on the health and injuries whether you've picked well. I'd take one of the top 2 or 3.
You want to ensure you have an unreplaceable, special talent who has shown the ability to play at least 145 games or pitch 28 starts minimum. Pujols, Reyes, Santana, A-Rod.
If you can get these guys, it really doesn't matter if you're picking 17-20 as these guys are multiple category monsters.

I agree with your thinking. You will probably want to draft 6th or 7th. That will allow you to pick up Johan Santana or Vlad. Guerrero with your 1st pick (those guys are absolutely incredible) while still having a top second pick to select guys like (Carlos Beltran or David Wright).
I also like having my picks evenly spread out so that you can pounce on a player you discover everyone else has missed without waiting too long to make your selection.
Best of luck!

i'd take 1 but 5 isnt bad. i think reyes, arod, pujols, soriano, and santana are the five best. at#5 you can get one of those and hope someone slips to 16(like vlad/ortiz). dont go below number five and if you want a certain player go #1.

7 (beltran) this guy can get 40 homers, 120 RBIs, 130 Runs and 25sbs
Soriano can't get RBIS for some reason
and it's a wrap draft so your're higher up
or go12th with Hafner who can get a 50-150-130 season (HR, RBI,Runs)

That's what mock drafts are for. Do one of your own. And then check out other mock's and see different ways to assemble your team from any position.
