Search for the Candles on the Kitchen Table and Light them and then go outside to see if the Neighbourhood is affected. Then Phone The Power Company to see how extensive the Power cut will be,when will it be repaired etc.If Batteries on Portable Radio is not working then I use the Solar Power and Wind up Radio to listen to Music, or else I go for Walk with my Dog to pass the time ,its no fun in the dark with Candles on .

day time we usually play board/card games, go outside and take pictures (depending on why the electric's out!), draw or sleep.
Night time we basically are with all the family if the power's out we talk and laugh and play games. Usually we have a few candles lit and 2 or 3 of our camping lanterns out plus a flashlight to go to the bathroom.
Day or night we heat with a couple of kerosine heaters and cook ontop of them too (they make awesome grilled cheese sandwiches!). We already have buckets of water ready to go most of the time so that we can flush toilets and heat them for washing off.
I could just say we're amish :P we don't have electricity...lol

day time go out side and take a walk, night time see how many house are in the dark and see what happened last it it was a transformer that went on fire because of a real hevey snow storm.

At night I play hide and ghost seek with my friends, during the day, I leave the house.

go outside if its day and hang out with some friends or get yard work down.. run errans... if night cuddle with your sweetie under some lit candles and talk about your day. or go out for a late stroll or cruise around your city... maybe get some starbucks on the way.

in the day, i read a book if it goes out at night, i light candles and take advantage of the romantic atmosphere.

during the day I read or go to someone who has power and at night I go to sleep.

We grab the flashlights, call the electric company, and play games. :-) It's great excuse to just have fun together.
If it's in the winter we will start a fire and all huddle in a blanket while making s'mores.
