What with modern research and tools, it seems to me that government is extremely dangerous now. Is there a limit to its evil? Or will our future be quite terrifying and bloody?

The government is capable of anything, no deed is too low to accomplish an end to a situation or problem. I could be put in jail for making that statement. They can wiretap my phones, without a warrant. They could imprison me without justification and ignore due process by claiming I'm a threat. If we as individuals lose our rights, who is going to stand up to the might of the government? We have basically been reduced to a tax base, and we get no representation for our taxation, nothing but lip service.

Define atrocity. Was it flying 3 planes into buildings? Was it blowing up Embassies? Was it hijacking ships and aircrafts and killing passenger? Or was it playing Ninja warrier on a contractor's neck while wearing a mask? Oh yeah, that was your new brethren.

You have quite a journey, my friend. I believe you will see that humanity, the world over, is all the same. What one's nation is does not change what it is capable of. France, England, Italy, Egypt, Persia, China, Japan, Chile, Argentina, Angola... They're all the same as the US. There isn't a nation that is innocent of wrong doing.
