Just like all goodness, we don't have it. We're always after these things because we do have and recognize the ugliness, the "evil", the lie, etc, and that's why we're after beauty, goodness and truth.
On the other hand, a more scientific approach, if you will, because of duality in nature; so we have beauty or harmony and balance and we also have entropy and chaos; and this is very important too.

Beauty is important because it brings happiness to those who understand it.Take the time now to see beauty around you and notice the feelings it arouses.It should have been positive ones if you truly caught a glimpse of real beauty.Remember beauty is in the eye of the beholder,what is beautiful to you may not be so for another and vice verse.But beauty is not all without true character.

Beauty is important, but it is not the most important thing. ...for man looks at outward appearance, but God looks at the heart 1 Samuel 16:9 ( i think). Beauty is not the most important thing, but to people, we think it is because of our own selfish desires. And if you think about it, if we were all beautiful, none of us would be... does that make sense? If we were all beautiful, beautiful would be ordinary and then where would we be. It just proves even more that beauty ISN'T the most important thing.

Well, it is because of beauty that lust arises, and because of that, stronger emotions are developed which lead to love. Beauty is the attraction to the other individual in your species, and that is the way the cookie crumbles.

I've met many people I could classify as beautiful, although not always physically.

Beauty is one indicator of health and a person who is healthy is better (to mate with) than a person who is not. It's all just survival instinct.
