I am a teacher in UK and would like to work in Mumbai as a teacher for some time. Can anyone tell me what it is like and if the salaries there are good enough to support a family in a decent sort of place with some home help.

I think even though the salary is low the reward you will gain from helping people will be enough. it is so cheap to live out there that the salery will cover it with ease. my friend works in a bar and gets only £15 per month and that is enough for him. Its a very charitable and lovely thing to do i hope it all works out.

there are many schemes which offer shorter periods in india where you could see what it would be like but will never be as good as here in england. you do get paid a lot less but also costs a lot less to live, depends what sort of lifestyle you're used to and what you could adapt to, but things will never be as good as in the UK
