Iam asking about the babies born to drug addicted women ,these babies have no opportunity of being a person of mora lvalues as being brought up in the drug culture is what they learn as they themselves are addicted born , I think ther needs to be a law on controlling this horrible freedom convinient to the women on drugs and the goverment welfare! In other words what is important to you , should these babies be allowed to be born into this drug culture , or do we need to make a law saying that women who are drug addicted can not bring babies into the world under these deplorable conditions? This is a nasty cycle that ends up hurting us all! Babies desrve a healthy environment , not born addicted !

Freedom and Law share a precarious relationship. When restrictions are put upon a Womans right to bear children no matter how irresponsible She may be, we become China and therefore cease to be Free.
However true Freedom cannot exist without a measure of Accountability.
I would propose rather to charge a Woman with Child Abuse if Her child is born in such a condition, for what really is the difference between a Woman who causes damage to a child outside, or inside the Womb?

I agree with you that babies need a healthy environment to grow up in. Why restrict ourselves to banning drug addicts from having babies. Drug abuse isn't the only unhealthy environment we human beings know. Babies in Iraq should be banned. Should babies be born in a war ravaged country, where they'd have their limbs blown apart before they learn to walk?

People in Ethopia and Somalia should be banned from having babies... Do we want babies to be born into malnurishment?? No.

Perhaps babies in Australia should be banned too... With all this ozone layer depletion, would we wish our kids to be born to skin cancer?? No.

We can go on and on... the bottom line is no one in this world has the moral right to restrict a woman from having a baby. It is her right to decide. Babies at the very least give hope. The hope of a better future. Having a baby is a life changing experience. For all that you know, the drug addict could turn a new leaf...

Whether it's moral isn't the issue. The issue is whether the government should have any authority to tell people what they can do with their own bodies just because there are segments of the population who are irresponsible. The answer is a resounding "NO."

there needs to be a law that says you have to pass a test to be a parent. If your pregnant and you don't pass then the baby can be put up for adoption.
