Do you still have to go to court if you plead guilty to a speeding ticket or can you just pay? The ticket is was issued in NY and i was going 15 over if that helps.

I thought you just went to court to dispute it. I think you just have to pay if you don't want to go to court. Some people do in hopes the cop won't show up. If he doesn't, then you case gets dismissed.

not sure about laws in NY, but usually you can mail in the ticket with the amount of the fine. this is called a "no contest" plea, and basically is equivelant to pleading guilty in court. read the back of the ticket for more details on court dates. usually court dates are reserved for those who want to plead not guilty, and have something to disprove.

Any time I get one I just pay it. But, be sure to call the court house and check, it maybe different in other states.

I believe you still have to show up ,but if you plead guilty you have to pay .

You can mail your guilty plea in with your ticket and they will send you the amount that you have to pay.

i pretty sure you just have to pay. you just go to court to dispute it.
