I've been taking ballet classes since i was about 6 years old. Thus, i have a very pettite, skinny phisique. I am "developing" slower than others {i am, just not as much as that girl with the DD cup LOL}
I am 5'2 & i weigh 40 kgs. However I eat healthy and sleep well. Many people say I'm skinny , yet i eat more than them gosh darn it!
I'm wondering if ballet training is slowing down puberty for me? and is this a really bad thing?
Like i mean I'm going to be 15 this year and still no period? Many people envy this , but I'm getting worried?

Oh , by the ways, 40 kg is about 90 pounds and 5'2 is about 158 cm. Just to clarify that.
And I did ask my mom when she got her period. She just turned thirteen! I am far past that !

you've nothing to worry about, athletes and dancers are often affected in this manner. They don't have regular menstrual cycles and they develop slowly, this is because most of your energies are going into developing the musculature you need for your chosen art. Fear not, you will grow and develop in time.

Im no girl but all I will say is that about the eating thing is that you probably have a fast metabolism, which means when you eat it goes through ur body really fast. about the puberty thing- everyone, and i mean everyone grows at different stages in life. no one will start the same time. i keep thinking im done but every once in awhile something changes. im actually really skinny too i am 6'0, but weigh 130, which is kind of skinny for my age. dont worry you WILL grow and if you dont by the time you are 18 or 19, consult your doctor lol.

People develop differently. Ask your doctor, get a physical. I'm sure they'll have all the right answers you need. If you're eating properly, girls need meat and potatos too, and not overexercising you shouldn't have any problems. Ask your mom or other women in your family about their development?

You aren't too skinny according to a traditional hieght verses weight chart. But low body fat percentage can cause delay in menstration. I'm assuming that you also excersice outside of dance class. I say not to worry until you are seventeen. other than that enjoy your health and your trim body.

don't worry. you'll grow into a woman when you and your body is ready. don't rush because when you finally do start your period, sometimes you might wish they'd never come. i'm about 5'4 & weigh about 52kgs and i have no idea how tall i am. i started getting my period at 15 years of age and sometimes i wish they wouldn't come. so don't be in too much of a hurry to grow up.

Well...I don't know what 40kgs transfers to in pounds...but it doesn't sound like much...I have 2 ideas...I heard on time that "puberty" doesn't start for a girl until they hit a certain weight (like 108lbs.) But that doesn't apply to me because I didn't sart mine until I was almost 17...so it'll happen

Athletic women typically start having periods later than more sedentary women. Don't worry about it. It's a good thing. Unless, of course, you're trying to get pregnant.

Don't worry I didn't get mine until I was 16. And I'm not a very active person, so give it some time. I know girls who didn't get it until they were 18.

No problem, it is better to have a healthy body than worry about 'developing'. Most women develop in their college years anyway.
